God is an awesome wonder! As a matter of fact, I believe I’m alive today because Jesus has kept his hands on me and commanded his angels concerning me. On last week, I was riding in the back seat of my brothers car and out of nowhere we could hear loud screeching of brakes. Then the sound got closer and closer. It was to the point that I immediately grabbed my son and wrapped my arms around him, getting ready to embrace whatever it was that was about to hit us. I started praying out loud and pleading the blood of Jesus over us. Next, my sister turned and looked out the back window and yelled to my brother, “Hit the gas because the police is about to hit us.” Soon as he hit the gas and was out of harms way, he pulled over to make sure the officer was ok. The officer came and told us that he was responding to an emergency call and he hit a curve and his tire popped, causing him to lose control of his car. I thank God for protecting us because at the speed the officer was going he could have hit us and the entire car could have caught on fire.
The next day, I was home alone with my seven-year-old. I decided to go outside to the laundry room to wash a load of clothes, but when I opened the door to the laundry room I smelled gas. The fumes was so strong it made my eyes burn. I also heard a ticking sound coming from the hot water heater. I hurried and called the gas company to come check it out. When they arrived they had to shut the gas off because it was a severe gas leak. Gas was leaking from both sides of the tank and had been leaking for a while. I thank God because my entire family stayed in the house all night and He kept us from danger. He gave his angels charge over us to protect us from harm (Palms 91:11). What a mighty God we serve!
Just four days ago, while I was on my way to work it was storming extremely bad. I could not see where I was going or where to pull over. To make matters worst, a tornado warning alert went off on my phone telling me to take cover immediately. Then instantly, the sky got dark as night. To be honest, I was afraid and defenseless. However, I knew if I called on the name of Jesus He would show up. By the way, He has not failed me yet! The stormed lifted and I made it to work, only to find out a tornado had just hit a school up the road from where I was. I thank God for redirecting that tornado and keeping me safe!
I don’t know about you, but I get excited when things around me start acting up. It let me know that God is up to something and He is about to show out in my life. Last week, I shared what God had told me about marching into greater and I’m going to stand on that word. Therefore, I serve the devil notice right now! Get thee behind me! I am more than a conquer…. I have the victory… My greater is here right now!
Point to ponder:
What has God protected you from? Don’t take life for granted. The fact that you are still alive and breathing means God has a plan for you.
Action to take:
Start by looking back over your life and thank God for his hedge of protection. Most importantly stay prayed up and hold on to every word God has spoken to you and over you.
Verse of meditation:
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thyshield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12They shall bear thee up in theirhands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
