While I was at the hospital last Tuesday visiting my grandfather, I had a talk with my little cousin. I inquired about her youngest son. She explained to me that he was trying to walk. She stated that he stands up; but every time he gets ready to take a step, he stops. It seems as if he is afraid to take a step and walk. I thought to myself; “If he would only stop focusing on the distance and just make a step he will be walking”. Im sure he trust his mother. I know he feels empowered when she reach her hands out and say to him; “Come on baby. You can do it.” However, fear is screaming louder. He allows fear to grip his little body, only to delay him from doing what he is destined to do… and that’s WALK.
Reluctantly to say, but this is how my walk with God has been at times. I have been unsure if I could walk into the things of God. Instead of completely trusting God, I’d go back to my comfort zone. I lacked faith in many areas of my life. I was afraid to stand up and trust Him completely. Therefore, I allowed fear to consume me. Walking with Him was something new and I was afraid of failing and turning around. You see, I didn’t know God enough to trust him with my life…..to trust that he knows what’s best for me.
Fear is not from God. We should not allow it to paralyze us. I had to learn to move with the fear and you can too! God is always there and he is waiting on you. Don’t give up on the dreams He has placed on the inside of you. Get up and walk into it! I can hear him saying “Come on daughter you can do it! I’m with you.” Remember, that it’s better to try and fail, than fail at trying. Henry Ford put it this way; “Those who walk with God always reach their destination”.
Verse of meditation : 2 Corinthians 5:7
For we walk by faith, not by sight
