My neighbor’s four year old little daughter broke her leg on her trampoline. She had to wear a cast all the way up her intire leg and thigh. She had to wear this cast for about two months. The pain and the cast caused her to walk awkward. My heart went out to her when her mother explained the pain she had to endure from her leg injury.
Two weeks ago my husband and I were grocery shopping and we saw the little girl and her mother in the store. Suprisingly, the little girl was in the shopping cart without her cast on. Her mother explained she was healed, but it’s been difficult to get her to walk on her leg correctly. She went on and explained that she walks like her leg is still in the cast and is broke. The little girl is afraid to run and play with the other children at school or in the neighborhood.
I watched the little girl a couple of days later. She was outside and wanted to play with my neice. I walked over to her and attempted to help her. In my attempt, I tried to get her mind off her leg so she can walk without fear. I told her to keep repeating “I am healed! My leg is heal, it is not broken”. To add, I even tried to have her to walk backwards, hop, run etc. But, no mater how hard I tried to help, her mind was still focused on her leg being broke. It was not focused on her healed leg that has been restored and set free from the cast. While helping her, the Holy Spirit reminded me how he called us to freedom. He died for our sins and set us all free. However; storms, heartaches, and trails sometimes can leave us feeling alone and broken. Remember, God is ALWAYS with us. He wants to heal us and bring us out. The problem is, we don’t renew our mind and keep it focused on Him. We tend to hold on to the pain too long and walk around like we are still broken. Instead, we should walk in the freedom Christ died for us to have. We have been set free from: sin, ungodly relationships, religion, addiction, people pleasing, etc. He did not call us to be free and bound. I dare you to pray and ask The Holy Spirit to reveal the areas in your life that have you bound. Also, pray for a renewed mind in Christ Jesus to help you walk in your freedom. Be free woman of God! You are a better you, when you are walking in your FREEDOM!
Verse of meditation:
Galatians 5:1King James Version (KJV)
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
