I have this comfortable habit of wearing big boxers shorts and jogger pants around the house. Recently, I needed to run outside and quickly get somethings out of my car. Before I went outside, I grabbed the first pair of joggers that I could get my hands on. Later that day, my husband walked in the kitchen while I was washing dishes. He asked in surprise, “Are those my pants that you have on?” I looked down at myself and laughed. They looked so funny on me. To add, they just didn’t fit me properly. They look better on him. As I explained to him why I had put them on, a quick revelation came to mind.
I thought back to many times I have tried to take on his role as a man. I have worn his pants several times during our marriage, resulting in him feeling less than a man. For example; If he did not move quick enough to handle things, I moved for him. My job is to NEVER wear his pants. My job is to wash, clean, and press them so they will look good on HIM. In other words, be his help mate and trust God to finish making him a man, father and a great husband.
Verse of Meditation: Ephesians 5:24(NIV)Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
