My 10 year old son longs for the day he can ride in the front passenger seat. I explained to him that he must meet the weight requirement to safely ride in the front seat. Recently, I had to go to make a quick run to the store. Although though it’s only about 15 yards from my house, I decided to drive. Because my back seat and trunk was full of boxes, my son had to ride in the front seat. When he buckled his seat belt, he quickly noticed the light on the dash that lit up explaining that his airbag was off. He asked me why. I explained that it was off because he did not weigh enough. He then became concern and stated that the air bag may not protect him like it should. Of course I agreed and explained that as a matter of fact, if the airbag comes out, it can do more harm than good. Moreover, I thought about this from a spiritual point of view. So many times we think we are ready to be in a place or position, but not realizing that we are not mature enough to handle it. In other words, we don’t weigh enough “spiritually” to to handle it. I’m learning not to move too fast. It’s best to be still while God shape and mold me into his image and likeness. When we move ahead of God we can sometimes move away from his protection. Stay with him and be co-labors with Christ. Let’s get our weight up!
Verse of Meditation: Jeremiah 29:11(KJV) For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
