Afraid of the Unknown

My son and I traveled for the first time last month without my husband. On my way there I came into congestion traffic that delayed me an hour. Consequently, I had to find an alternate route. All the while my legs began to shake and my hands started sweating. You see, traveling on a highway or driving in a new place always seems to make me feel uneasy. My son noticing ask, “Mom or you ok?” I assured him that I was ok. All the while the Lord kept reassuring me that I got this. Part of me was upset that my husband did not come. I knew if he was with me he would be driving and he knows how to travel on any road. Then God began to speak to me. He explained that it was all a set up. He did this so that I would learn to trust Him even in the unknown. He said that I’ve always trusted Him in familiar places, however it’s the unknown places that I struggle. He said when I have no control…. I panic. It blew my mind because it’s so true. (Lord help me!)

I’m in a place right now spiritually and physically now that I’ve never been before. It’s scary, but I know who is with me! I relinquish my control!! God I trust you when I can’t trace you!I know you will never leave my side. Thank you for your comfort and reassurance. Thank you for the unknown places… They create a pressure that helps me to trust you all the more!

Deuteronomy 31:6 New International Version (NIV)Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsakeyou.”

I'm a dedicated wife and mother of a blended family of five children. I started a personal relationship with Jesus Christ on March 2, 2013. From that day forward, my life has forever changed! I love Jesus and I have a passion for helping women of all ages and walks of life. I have been married to my loving husband, Michael since 2005 . We have experienced God's unmerited favor on our lives. However, It has not always been easy. Just like other married couples, we have faced many obstacles: In-law issues, financial issues, blended family issues, infidelity, cheating, etc. In 2011, we were near a divorce and our marriage was nearly over, but God had other plans for our union. He has restored our marriage, healed, and delivered us both. We are now SYMBIS Marriage Counselors and the proud founders of A2GG (Adding 2 God’s Gifts. A2GG is a sports development and mentor-ship program for the youth. To conclude, we enjoy attending church and helping families overcome the strategies of the enemy.
