3 weeks ago I received a call from one of my adult children. They were out of town working in another state. I received news that there had been a lay off for weeks. If they did leave before nightfall they would have had to sleep in the company’s van; out side in freezing cold temperatures. As a parent I did everything in my power to get my child closer to home. I used up all my resources. However, I’m so thankful for their safe return and thankful to the Lord for keeping his promise to me.
That brings me to last week….I had to go out of town for training. I did not have the money to pay for my hotel. I desperately needed one due to the icy roads and bad weather that was forecasted. However, looking at my limitations; I started preparing myself to sleep in my vehicle if needed. Just as I was about to grab extra clothes and blankets God interrupted my doubtful thoughts. He begin to speak… “You did not let your child sleep in a cold vehicle…. why would you think I would allow you to? You are my daughter!” In that moment I felt his loving arms and comforting presence all around me. As I begin to weep, he reminded me that he was in control over everything! Yes, that includes the weather! I worshiped him with such admiration of who he is and how much he loves me! He is all powerful! He cleared the weather up that day and made my trip a safe one! I was able to drive back with no problems. He even had someone to bless me financially before I left home. What a mighty God I serve!
Verse of mediation: Psalms 37:25 (KJV) I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging for bread.
