Ungrateful Heart

12-year-old pleaded with my husband and me to get him the new Xbox. Despite either of us being employed at the time, we told him we would try to get it by Christmas. The Xbox along with the Play Station 5, was such a high-demand item that it was hard to get. To add, even the wealthiest people had trouble getting their hands on one. I checked every website and every store. Soon as they were in stock, they sold out within minutes. But for my child… I was determined! I was going to locate him one and I would not have to pay the jacked-up fees from 3rd party vendors. Finally, the Lord blessed me to find one on Walmart.com Thank God!! My son knew there was a possibility that he might not be able to get one due to high demand. The very thought sadden him. But nevertheless, you should have seen the look on his face when we surprised him on Christmas Morning. What A joy it was to see the smile on his face!

Four months later my son shocked me with his new request. He asked if he could trade his Xbox in for a Play Station 5. He said all his friends have one and he can’t play certain games with them online with his Xbox. Instantly I felt unappreciated. I wondered if he remembered all we went through to get it… the sacrifices that were made… But, just like that, he forgot.

At that moment I wondered how many times I grieved my Heavenly Father. He has brought me so far. He has ALWAYS provided! But it has been many times I wished I had this or that. It was never my intention to be ungrateful….but I was. Lord knows I’m thankful for the hard times in my life and the many times he told me “No.” I had to learn to be content and thankful. Lord I repent.

Just like I told my son, I encourage you today to think back over your life. Thank God for what He has done. Ask him to help you have a grateful heart. Ask him to teach you how to be content. He is faithful to do it!

Verse of Meditation: Philippians 4:11-13 (KJV)

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things, I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengthened me

Salvation

If you desire to know God deeper and you are not sure when you die if you will go to Heaven to be with Him in eternity. Please say the following prayer out loud:

“Lord, come into my life, I will make you Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I believe you died on the cross for my sins and three days later you got up with all power in your hands. Wash me and cleans me from all my sins and make me whole before you today. I renounce my past and look forward to my future in you. Lord fill me with the Holy Spirit as only you can. In your name of Jesus Christ, I pray.”

If you’ve said the above prayer by faith, you are saved my friend. I encourage you to reach out to me if you have any questions about your salvation or would like to connect to a faith-based church.

I'm a dedicated wife, author, CLC, and mother of a blended family of five children and three grandchildren. I started a personal relationship with Jesus Christ on March 2, 2013. From that day forward, my life has forever changed! I love Jesus and I have a passion for helping women of all ages and walks of life. As a Certified Lactation Counselor, I enjoy helping moms and babies breastfeed successfully. My favorite motto is "Any breast milk is better than none." I believe every mother and baby has their own unique breastfeeding journey. I look forward to walking with families to make the journey rewarding! I have been married to my loving husband, Michael since 2005. We have experienced God's unmerited favor in our lives. However, It has not always been easy. Just like other married couples, we have faced many obstacles: In-law issues, financial issues, blended family issues, infidelity, cheating, etc. In 2011, we were near divorce and our marriage was nearly over, but God had other plans for our union. He has restored our marriage, healed, and delivered us both. We are now SYMBIS Marriage Counselors and the proud founders of A2GG (Adding 2 God’s Gifts (Adding2godsgifts.com) A2GG is a sports development and mentorship program for the youth. To conclude, we enjoy attending church and helping families overcome the strategies of the enemy.
