Last week my husband and I went to the mall to grab a bite to eat. As we approached the food court, I immediately began to start pushing on the heavy steal doors. My husband said, “Babe you don’t have to push on the doors. Look, this door is already open.” Later that night I pondered on what he said. I thought about the many times I’ve tried to go ahead of God and force my way in doors that he had not yet opened. I only made my way harder by overlooking the doors that was automatically design to open for me. I’m learning that walking with God is a lot easier than walking ahead of him. I encourage you to be patient and wait for your open door. God has gone ahead of you to ensure that it will OPEN WIDE!!!!
Verse of Meditation: Revelation 3:8 KJV I know thy works. Behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it. For thou hast a little strength, and hast kept My Word, and hast not denied My name
I have this comfortable habit of wearing big boxers shorts and jogger pants around the house. Recently, I needed to run outside and quickly get somethings out of my car. Before I went outside, I grabbed the first pair of joggers that I could get my hands on. Later that day, my husband walked in the kitchen while I was washing dishes. He asked in surprise, “Are those my pants that you have on?” I looked down at myself and laughed. They looked so funny on me. To add, they just didn’t fit me properly. They look better on him. As I explained to him why I had put them on, a quick revelation came to mind.
I thought back to many times I have tried to take on his role as a man. I have worn his pants several times during our marriage, resulting in him feeling less than a man. For example; If he did not move quick enough to handle things, I moved for him. My job is to NEVER wear his pants. My job is to wash, clean, and press them so they will look good on HIM. In other words, be his help mate and trust God to finish making him a man, father and a great husband.
Verse of Meditation: Ephesians 5:24(NIV)Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
This weekend one of my sisters came over to get her hair done. As I trimmed her hair, she said something that shook my spirit. She said “EVERYTHING THAT IS DEAD… CUT IT OFF!” Now that I think about it….. it’s how she said it and she meant it! See, you have to know that my sister is on a healthy natural hair journey. She don’t just want long hair.. she wants HEALTHY long hair. Her hair is so beautiful that no matter her hair style; it’s captivating to just see her walk into a room! Not only is hair beautiful, but she is beautiful inside and out!
What she said ministered to me. I thought to myself, I don’t want to just be Holy. I want to be WHOLE and HOLY! EVERYTHING THAT IS DEAD I want God to cut it off!! I want to produce more fruit. When I come and go I want people to to be captivated by the love of Christ and be drawn near to him. Search me Lord and show me.. ME! I’m NOTHING without you. I can be a mess at times! Help me to be honest with you about where I am. Help me to remain naked before you! Thank you for always LOVING ME!! Most importantly…Jesus you be glorified in my life!!!!
Verse of Meditation: John 15:2-6 AMPC
Any branch in Me that does not bear fruit [that stops bearing] He cuts away (trims off, takes away); and He cleanses and repeatedly prunes every branch that continues to bear fruit, to make it bear more and richer and more excellent fruit.
You are cleansed and pruned already, because of the word which I have given you [the teachings I have discussed with you].
Dwell in Me, and I will dwell in you. [Live in Me, and I will live in you.] Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in (being vitally united to) the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me.
I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing.
If a person does not dwell in Me, he is thrown out like a [broken-off] branch, and withers; such branches are gathered up and thrown into the fire, and they are burned.
Last week I took my oldest son to the airport. This was his first time flying alone. He is not the one to ask for directions, but I instructed him to ask for help when needed. The scariest thing is that he had to fly into Atlanta Georgia to change planes. This is one of the busiest airports in the United States. I knew he was overwhelmed. Therefore, I was lead to pray with him, especially since I could not be with him every step of the way. It really did not hit me until we went through the security check point. That is as far as I could go with him. I had to get out of line and watch him through glass locked doors and pray that he remembers everything I have taught him. I had to also put my faith in God and trust that my son would not get lost and that he would be fine.
This really spoke to me because I know at some point, I will have to let go of all my children and pray that they remember everything I’ve taught them. But most importantly, that they start to have their on relationship with Christ. My son knows that Jesus was with him that day and on the return home. He remembered the prayer we prayed together and he learned to pray when he is scared and anxious. My prayer is that my children know me as their MOTHER. I can’t not be their God.
Lord continue to help me with this process! Thank you Jesus for trusting my husband and I to be their earthy parents. I know they belong to you first and there is no greater love than the love you have for them! ❤️
Verse of Meditation: Proverbs 22:6 (KJV)
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
